Las Vegas Dinner Show to Introduce Support-Ukraine Themed Menu, Donate Portion of Proceeds to Help Ukrainian Refugees

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (March 2nd, 2022) — Marriage Can Be Murder, Las Vegas’ longest-running fully-interactive dinner theater experience, is showing its support for Ukrainian citizens by altering the show’s menu to include a new appetizer, deruny, a popular Ukrainian potato pancake dish. The show will also be donating a portion of all March ticket proceeds to USA for UNHCR, the U.N. refugee agency, to help Ukrainian refugees, with a minimum pledge of $10,000.

“What’s happening in Ukraine is tragic,” said Eric Post, co-creator of Marriage Can Be Murder. “With so many Ukrainian families forced to flee their homes as a result of the groundless violence inflicted upon them, we want to play our part as members of the Las Vegas entertainment community to support these refugees and call attention to what will sadly be an ongoing plight for so many displaced Ukrainian people.”

Eric Post, a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef that oversees the culinary aspect of the dinner theater experience in addition to acting in and producing the show, is incorporating the Ukrainian appetizer into the menu to celebrate Ukrainian culture and cuisine.

“Food is so much more than mere sustenance,” he said. “What we eat is part of our cultural heritage and an art form. I want to celebrate and honor the culture of Ukraine by sharing a bit of the country’s cuisine with our guests.”

The multi-award-winning show reopened its doors on February 10, 2022, launching a new residency at “The Venue” in The Orleans Hotel and Casino.

“As our show recovers from the COVID pandemic, and we begin our new residency at The Orleans, it’s easy for us to get caught up in the nonstop whirlwind of fun,” said Jayne Post, co-creator of Marriage Can Be Murder. “But knowing that so many uprooted Ukrainians are presently undergoing tremendous hardship, we just felt that we can use the popularity of our show to participate in relief efforts. We want the Ukrainian people to
know that we support them from across the globe here in Las Vegas.”

The new menu will begin on March 10th. Eric and Jayne Post, in collaboration with Ivory Star Productions, have pledged to donate a portion of all ticket sales in March to USA for UNHCR, guaranteeing a minimum of $10,000 for Ukrainian relief.

Celebrating 22 years as a Las Vegas entertainment staple, Marriage Can Be Murder is an interactive comedy-murder mystery that includes a three-course dinner served alongside the continuous performance of actors who are hidden among the audience. The highly immersive presentation treats audiences to a hilarious and engrossing evening, with attendees serving as participants in a whodunit rife with questionable alibis, unusual suspects and shocking revelations.

“The Venue” includes multiple stages around the space to keep guests deeply engaged and entertained throughout the evening. The plot, theme and actors change every three months, keeping the show fresh for returning guests eager to solve the mystery anew.

Guests are offered a specially curated chef’s tasting menu, including the deruny appetizer, featuring chicken and beef along with fresh mixed greens salad, two sides, and dessert. Vegetarian options are also available. There will be fresh sourdough bread where the dough is sourced from a local Italian artisanal restaurant, Monzu Italian Oven + Bar, and baked onsite. The dinner also includes non-alcoholic beverages.

Presented by Ivory Star Productions, Marriage Can Be Murder performs Thursday through Sunday. The lobby and bar area open at 6 p.m. where guests can gather to enjoy a cocktail before the show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for seating and the start of salad service. The show starts promptly at 7:00 p.m. and lasts for two hours with two opportunities for mingling moments and bathroom breaks.
